NEWS ’N VIEWS Our Newsletter is put together by a small group of five, working on a voluntary basis. We are all retired and apart from the pleasure we get from the process, it keeps us alert and ticking over, adhering to the old saying ’’use it or lose it’’ and stopping us from degenerating in the brain department, As well as doing a bit of writing we take photographs, scan them in the computer and then decide which ones to use in the current issue, and then cojole people in to contributing their own articles of interest to the local residents. we are always on the look out for anyone who feels that they have a view to express or an opinion to air. We collect the material, edit it, do the graphics, print and then copy and finally staple together 1,000 copies for distribution in the local area, and left at various points to be picked up by members of the public. We think that we will have to increase our output as we were asked for more after our last edition was sent out. All the work is done in the ICT Centre at Holyrood Court. Our aim is to try to keep the residents of Dumbiedykes up to date with events but does not detract from the great pleasure and satisfaction we get from bringing out our Newsletter
