The Simpson Explorer Scout Unit has been up and running for some time now. To date we have been swimming, climbing, mountain biking and canoeing. We have a regular attendance of eight explorers all of which are around 14 so they will go through the unit together nicely. We have welcomed two rangers into the group and they have become part of the regular eight attendees. Our first planned camp is the district event at Biblins and I am delighted to say that all eight explorers are going and are keen for the activities. I have finally made the break through of getting my provisional warrant and am eagerly awaiting the opportunity to complete the first three modules ad get my warrant signed off. Until that time the unit is being run with the warrant and support of Pete Smith and guidance from Roy Clarke who is working hard with district officials to find out just what has to be done so that we are officially recognised. The Explorer Scout Unit is always welcoming new faces, male or female and if you know of anyone over 14 who would enjoy the sort of activities mentioned above then please do not hesitate to contact me through the usual channels.
