GB/UK is an untenable proposition it should be dismantled and broken up into its constituent parts. Why is that? What's wrong with it?
The assumption is made that because GB exists it has always done so.
That it works or it would not have lasted so long. That it can't be all bad, and any way what's the alternative?
Living in England it might be easier to make these assumptions or ask these questions when faced with the bald statement of dismantling the UK.
While English people may not all have seen much of the advantages they have also not seen all the disadvantages.
Make the same statement north or west of the respective borders in Scotland or Wales could produce much different responses. And in the 6 Co's of Northern Island of course depending on who was asked the response would be totally different
People wherever they live only really see what directly affects them.
Those living in Scotland Wales and the 6Co's don't by and large have as much say in their own affairs as the English. Why because the governing organizations present in these places are not sovereign bodies. They can not decide everything that effects the lives of the people who reside there.
The people of Scotland Wales and the 6 Co's are still ultimately governed by England via Westminster. Westminster is whatever the English may maintain to the contrary, still an English parliament for an English people.
It is particularly invidious for two Scots Tony Blair & Gordon Brown to deny their own people any right to determine their own future for the political expediency of Labour achieving a usable majority in England’s Westminster Parliament.
For any notion of Citizenship to be based on such a false premise of ‘Britishness’ that yolks Welsh: Scots: Northern Irish; English to a colonial plough condemning Ireland to perpetual division and England and the English to political social and cultural schizophrenia. The only people that stand to benefit from that last being the Fascists and entrepreneurs.
